Measuring flour
When measuring flour always use a dry measuring cup. Dry measuring cups usually come nested in sets of 1 cup, 1/2 cup, 1/3 cup and 1/4. Liquid measuring cups usually have a spout and are typically made of glass or plastic. When measuring dry ingredients never pack it down or you will get the wrong measurement.
First spoon the flour into the desired cup size leaving a mound on top.

With the back of a straight knife or spoon handle scrape the excess flour off the top of the cup.

A level cup of flour will give you the correct measurement for your recipe.
