Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Charcoal Filtered - Aged 4 Years Located just on the outskirts of Bardstown, Kentucky, Kentucky Bourbon Distillers is today the only remaining small family owned distillery in Kentucky. The distillery was originally built by the Willett family of distillers, who brought their distilling knowledge with them from England to the American Colonies in the early 1600's. Combine the Knob Creek Bourbon, water, schnapps and bitters in a mixing glass
two-thirds full of ice. Stir until well chilled. Strain into a chilled Martini glass.

Mint Julep 1.5 oz Knob Creek Bourbon
1 tsp Granulated Sugar
2 tsp Water
Finely Crushed Ice
Fresh Mint
In a highball glass, dissolve the sugar in two teaspoons of water.
Fill the glass with crushed ice, and add the Knob Creek Bourbon.
Stir contents until the glass becomes frosty, adding more ice if necessary.
Garnish with sprigs of mint.
Old Fashioned 1.5 oz Knob Creek Bourbon
1 tsp Water
1 tsp Sugar
2-3 Dashes Angostura Bitters
2 Orange Wedges
1 Lemon twist
2 Cherries Place the sugar in an old-fashioned or lowball glass and soak with the bitters.
Add a cherry, orange wedge and splash of water, and muddle the ingredients
with the back of a bar spoon into a thick citrus paste.
Fill the glass with ice cubes and add the Knob Creek Bourbon.
Stir and garnish with a slice of orange and cherry and add a twist of lemon.

.5 oz Sweet Vermouth

In shaker, combine and shake the Knob Creek Bourbon, sweet vermouth,

The name of an old Campbeltown distillery, Longrow was first distilled at Springbank in 1973. This whisky is double distilled in the traditional Scottish manner from malt dried entirely over a peat fire. It has inspired an obsessive cult following, due to its powerful peat smoke character and partly due to its very limited availability. Colour: Pale straw Nose: Unmistakeable. Our source is a 10-acre limestone spring-fed lake at the distillery. The red wax seal you see on our bottle is like a snowflake, no two of them are alike. We'd be hard pressed to explain what's behind the differences in snowflakes, but its easy to explain the individuality of our wax patterns. Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Charcoal Filtered Located just on the outskirts of Bardstown, Kentucky, Kentucky Bourbon Distillers is today the only remaining small family owned distillery in Kentucky. The distillery was originally built by the Willett family of distillers, who brought their distilling knowledge with them from England to the American Colonies in the early 1600's. Before coming to the Colonies, they had utilized their knowledge and practiced their talents in their Mother country for many years. Before that, they had distilled Brandy in France, where the family originated. Even today, this is evidence by "Square Willette," at the foot of Montmartre in Paris. After settling in Kentucky, the Willett family of distillers were involved with the building of several other distilleries in Kentucky before finally building their own in Bardstown. The distillery was operated by the Willett family of distillers from just after the repeal of Prohibition until the mid 1980's as "The Willett Distilling Company, Inc." In the mid 1980's the older generation of Willett's wanted to retire and stepped aside for the next generation to continue the centuries old family tradition. At this time (mid 1980's), a tremendous upsurge in the demand for Bourbon from the international markets created new demands, challenges and opportunities for the younger generation just stepping in to take over. One of the first challenges facing the younger generation was to identify and relate the company's products and services to the ever-growing market demand for Bourbon around the world. Although The Willett Distilling Company, Inc. had attained an irrefutable reputation for making what the called "The Greatest Kentucky Bourbon," it was only known in a handful of markets in the southeast portion of the USA. In an effort to better connect with the fast expanding new markets for Bourbon around the world, the younger generation decided to adopt the name: Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, Ltd., which better identified and related the company, its products and services to the international marketplace. Since the mid 1980's much attention has been focused toward global markets. As a result, the company's products can be found on five continents. After establishing its products in markets around the world, renewed efforts are being directed to not only rebuild and strengthen old markets in the USA, but also establishing new markets for a well diversified product portfolio.

This Vintage release of Old Forester was chosen to honor the birthday of George Garvin Brown, the Bourbon industry's pioneer and our founder. Once bottled, its unique character will never be replicated again. The Old Forester new make spirit was drawn off an experimental mash and then distilled on May 27 and barreled on June 2, 1993. The distillery was trying out a different malted barley supplier, and the new barley produced a slightly lighter-bodied spirit than usual. This spirit was entered into new, charred white oak barrels from Blue Grass Cooperage, and of the 368 barrels filled only 41 remain today. These barrels were then aged on the upper floors of Warehouse H and were exposed to very warm temperatures and dry conditions throughout their 12 years. These conditions resulted in a higher than average Angel's Share loss which concentrated the rich toasted and charred oak notes in the remaining spirit. You'll find the nose of this brilliant orange-red bourbon to be rich with incredibly sweet vanilla, caramel and maple syrup notes that evolve into a layer of creamy butterscotch, as well as deep and full of light mint and dried fruit. The Birthday Bourbon taste is smooth with hints of cedar and oak laced with spice covered with a delicate candy store selection. And the finish is very clean and apply crisp with little oak effect... very light for 12-year old bourbon. We're confident you'll find this year's Birthday Bourbon to be one to savor.

Following the Revolutionary War, a few venturesome distillers left Pennsylvanie, then the chief center of the distilling industry, and migrated down the Ohio River. One of their first stops was at a junction with the old "Buffalo Trace," the overland trail to the south and west. Here in the original Bourbon County, still a part of Virginia (now Mason County, Kentucky) the settlement of Limestone Landing sprung up. What is often said to be the first distillery in Kentucky was set up about the year 1790, very near the present site of the Pogue Distillery. Limestone Landing soon became known as the "Gateway to the South," because of its location on the steep slopes of the limestone hills forming the entrance to the Blue Grass Country. With the admission of Kentucky to the Union, it was renamed Maysville. In old Bourbon County, pioneer distillers discovered that the Indian corn and limestone water of this region made a product so fine that it was easily distinguishable from other spirits. Ever since, "Bourbon" whiskey, named after the original Bourbon County, has been a universal favorite in the distilled spirits field. While many of the old distilleries have ceased to exist, the original Pogue location still occupies an important place in the traditional industry of the historic Kentucky limestone country.
