| 2000 Syrah | We blended six lots of wine, primarily grown in San Luis Obispo County with small lots from Monterey and Santa Barbara counties, to make a lively, complex Syrah. Fruit from Paso Robles contributes jammy plum and blackberry flavors, while the brighter cherry tones hail from Edna Valley. Other aromas that youll discover are white pepper, sage, smoke, meatiness, and cigar box, with chocolate and coffee tones in the finish. This is a wonderful wine to drink with traditional red-wine dishes such as barbecued beef, lamb or sausages as well as wild game. For the more adventurous, it pairs well with well-spiced Moroccan and Arabic dishes or even a combination pizza. |
