THE VINEYARD
Founded in 1850, Maison Brillet is one of the last remaining houses to produce hand-crafted, single vineyard alembic, un-blended Cognacs. It is one of the few houses having retained its passion for producing Cognac from vineyard to bottle. Maison Brillet is family- owned and led today by tenth generation President, Jean-Louis Brillet. Maison Brillet owns and farms 100 acres of exclusive Grande and Petite Champagne Vineyards, the two ?grand cru? vineyards of the Cognac region. The word ?Champagne?in Cognac refers to the flat and chalky landscape, not unlike that found in Champagne itself. It is a remarkable vineyard with deep layers of chalk soil providing the perfect environment for the slow maturation of Cognac?s principle white grape varieties, Ugni Blanc and Colombard. The Brillet distillery is a ?Bouilleur de Cru? distillery reserved exclusively for the production from Brillet?s own vineyards. December to March sees the delicate traditional operation of Distillation Charentaise (2 times) in the Traditional Charentais Pot Still made from pure copper in a ritual unchanged since the XVII century. The Brillet cellars assure the slow metamorphosis of the Pure Eau de Vie de Cognac but not without the heavy tribute in evaporation called ?La past des Agnes?. In order to guarantee the best original quality of the two Premiers Grand Crus of Cognac, the Brillet cognacs are produced, aged in oak barrels and bottled separately ?unblended?: Single Petit Champagne from 3 to 10 years. This lovely Cognac is the Cognac we drink at home as our daily Cognac. un-blended from exclusively our Grand Cru Petite Champagne Vineyards and aged for 6 years in oak, this Cognac captures the natural essence of our exceptional terroir: complex with a nose that suggests honey, lavender, crushed dried spices, vanilla, hazelnut and buttered brioche with a long elegant finish, it is the perfect drink mid morning as a ?lift me up? or after dinner while relaxing. All of our Cognacs are hand-made in our family distillery in Les Aireaux, a small hamlet near Jarnac in Cognac. |

Aged or a full generation in small oak casks; this remarkable, elegant and distinguished Cognac is 100% Grande Champagne, Premier Grande Cru de Cognac. Soft and biscuity with a nutty character this great Brillet Cognac has a fine bouquet, with notes of vanilla and rancio, a delicate and almost ethereal palate, persistent length and a very clean finish. |

| This VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale) cognac is made from the two finest crus - the Grande and Petite Champagne - and aged for eight to twelve years. This extended period (which is three to seven years longer than the mininmum legally required) yields a delicate bouquet and delightful balance of oak and floral flavours. Courvoisier VSOP was awarded a Gold Medal in the 1996 International Wine and Spirit Competition, and was also judged Best VSOP Cognac in the 1998 International Spirits Challenge. |
